I love flowers! I have a huge garden in my back yard that I tend to every year and my garden flowers inspire me.  Every flower has it's own "personality". Each has it's own fragrance and each blooms differently than any other.   Painting flowers makes me feel peaceful, happy and cheerful.  I use my fingers and paint each one with an array of beautiful colors. I paint one single flower to express how individual and unique each one is. A single flower says, "Here I am! Look at me!" 

My Flower Story...

I got my "green thumb" from my mother who was always in her garden. I remember how she would stop and let me smell a single flower and tell me all about it. We would sit in the sunshine and all my senses would come alive!  She loved every flower and as she tended her flowers, I now know she was tending me to share her love of flower's, too. 

Her legacy continue's as each year, I add more and more flowers to my own beautiful backyard garden.  It is a peaceful place that is always full of wonderful, colorful blooms and enticing fragrances.  

All summer long, I search and photograph those "special" flowers that I may want to paint for the upcoming cold Minnesota winter.

These treasures are my inspiration and painting them in the winter just makes me happy. Bringing  me back to my childhood and my memories of mom and her garden.
